James Morris is the Regional Security Manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Aon, based in London. James is a Security, Safety and Crisis Manager with over 15 years protecting assets to enable business operations across the financial, extractives, military and government sectors. He has held operational roles in multiple complex environments globally.
James is the Director of Young Professionals for ASIS UK, leading a committee and programme designed to support the career development of young professional leaders across the UK security risk management industry.
James has worked for Aon for the past 2-years, protecting Aon’s own assets as well as proving security and crisis management support to Aon’s global client base. Previously, James was the Security Operations Manager, EMEA for AIG, supporting AIG’s clients around the region.
Before relocating to the UK, James was the Regional Security Manager, Africa for IAMGOLD Corporation. Previously, as EMEA Regional Security Analyst for Newmont Mining Corporation in Ghana, he protected assets for the company in the region including a $2.4B gold mine by developing the mine’s security and crisis management plans, while conducting multiple due-diligence investigations of potential new projects and partners and leading the company’s security and human rights programme. James started his career in security management in Iraq with AEGIS Defence Services, before joining the security team at the British Embassy in Afghanistan where he supported Her Majesty’s Ambassador as part of the Overseas Security Manager’s 4-person team.
