We spoke to Mr. Ashish P. Dhakan, MD & CEO, Prama Hikvision India Pvt. Ltd. to understand the security trends in the new year, the new technology innovations to be expected from Hikvision this year, the impact of general elections on the Indian security market and his views on the IFSEC India show.

- Please shed some light on the growing trends in the security domain for the new year.
Hikvision will be introducing wide range of innovative products and solutions in the year 2019, while continuing its focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled applications and AI Cloud. Hikvision has embedded this innovative technology into a family of products to maximise their use, including DeepinView cameras and DeepinMind NVRs /Servers. The product solutions boast a bundle of intelligent features such as facial recognition, vehicle recognition, object detection, people counting, behaviour analysis, and much more.
Hikvision’s latest offerings includes PIR Cameras, Face Recognition Terminals, Face Recognition Swing Gates, AX Hub Next generation Intrusion Alarm with CCTV and Smart Pole for Smart Infrastructures including Emergency Call Box ( ECB).
- What kind of technology innovations are you working on for your security products and solutions to be launched in the near future?
We at Hikvision are working on wide range of security products and solutions with India specific product focus and customized requirements across the verticals. We are working on innovations to drive the next level of Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, Perimeter Security , Machnine Vision and Smart Home products and solutions. We are closely working IoT and IIoT technology platforms with special focus on AI (Artificial Intelligence) enabled applications. The successful implementation of ‘Make in India’ roadmap (Manufacturing facility near Mumbai) has given us more power to leverage the products and solutions as per Indian market needs.
- What impact do you believe the general elections this year are going have on the security market in India?
We consider general elections as a celebration of the great Indian democratic values. As world’s largest democracy, India is making consistent progress by conducting free and fair elections. We are expecting the security market to grow further as numerous security requirements for general elections will drive the growth.
- Please tell us about your views on IFSEC India 2018 show and how it helps in enhancing awareness about security products and solutions.
Being a leader in the Indian security market, Hikvision has showcased its best-in-class technologies and innovations in the IFSEC India 2018.We had unveiled the latest products and innovative technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, AI Cloud, Big Data and IoT. We have introduced PIR Cameras, Face Recognition Terminals & Swing Gates, Smart Pole and ECB (Emergency Call Box) for the first time in India. We are elated to see the positive response from our partners. The latest IFSEC Award has reaffirmed our faith in pursuing excellence in security technology implementation.”
At the sprawling IFSEC India exhibition floor, Hikvision had set up a gigantic booth. Hikvision showcased a whole new range of vertical specific solutions, including PPOG, Intelligent Traffic Management Solution (ITMS), Mobile, Education, Healthcare, Hospitality, Tourism, Retail, and Banking.
