IFSEC India Virtual Expo 2nd June: Post-Show Report

IFSEC India Virtual Expo

The first edition of IFSEC India 2020 Virtual Expo provided all the business networking opportunities that security industry is used to as part of the physical expo sans the requirement to be physically present at the exhibition venue. Over 2,100 attendees with profiles of CSOs, security managers, Consultants, System Integrators, Dealers and Resellers browsed through the various booths and conference sessions. A user-friendly web-based platform facilitated exhibitors to display all products virtually as well speak to your customers as part of the conference sessions and through one-to-one audio/video calls. There were opportunities to disseminate white papers, case studies, PPTs, brochures and other informative material that is normally shared with customers.

The inaugural ceremony included the Guest of Honour, Padma Shri D. R. Kaarthikeyan (IPS), Ex-Director, Central Bureau of Investigation and the Keynote speaker, Prof. Amol Deshmukh, Police and Cyber Advisor, Dept. of Home, Govt. of Maharashtra. Mr. Yogesh Mudras, MD, Informa Markets in India delivered the Welcome Address while Mr. Pankaj Jain, Group Director-Security & Safety portfolio, Informal Markets in India concluded the ceremony with a vote of thanks.

As we slowly come out of the onslaught of Covid-19, businesses across the globe are preparing for a long haul of changed working conditions, newer security challenges, supply chain disruptions and absence of physical interactions. During this time, it makes sense to prepare for the upcoming challenges using all the technology available at our disposal to ensure business continuity and build the capability to mitigate those challenges. IFSEC India 2020 Virtual Expo is one of the steps in that direction. Building on the legacy of IFSEC India Security Expo which is organised annually in New Delhi since 2007, it has been designed to provide all the business networking opportunities that you are used to as part of the physical expo sans the requirement to be physically present at the exhibition venue. So, sitting from the comfort of your office or even home, you get to reach out to your community, seamlessly through your PC or mobile device.

As part of the Virtual Expo there was a one-day conference with the theme-- Gearing Up for New-Age Threats--to deliberate on the new-age challenges to security of cities and organisations, the role played by AI and IoT in making surveillance systems more robust, and challenges to information security. Some of the topics discussed:

  • COVID 19: The All Pervasive Impact and the Way Forward (panel discussion)
  • Threats to Digital Assets in a Virtually Connected World (panel discussion)
  • What COVID-19 Teaches Security Leaders in Crisis Management and ensuring Business Continuity (panel discussion)

Eminent Panelist

“While we reminisce the grand inauguration ceremonies in the physical format that we are accustomed to in the presence and support of our well-wishers, partners, thought leaders and visitors, the Covid 19 situation worldwide has made us rethink situations, adapt, innovate and move forward. Currently, we are leveraging effective technologies available at our disposal as a global giant to ensure business stability and build expertise to mitigate the challenges brought about by COVID-19. With initiatives such as these, we also hope to see India advancing further than the 44th position it has in terms of digital competitiveness in the world basis knowledge and future readiness to adopt and explore digital technologies. IFSEC India 2020 Virtual Expo was one of the steps in that direction.”

“IFSEC India be it offline or virtual has been established for professionals in the safety and security space across the globe. Refurbishing of the security strategy and discussion about the cutting-edge technologies is the need of the hour for the country as well as organisations now. In our very first attempt, the one day virtual show attracted relevant buyers and visitors for the expo and attendees for the conference. We hope to see IFSEC virtual and our other virtual shows in the pipeline to continue serving as a catalyst to the industry in the near future.”

-Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India

“IFSEC India Virtual Expo held on 2nd June is the first among many Virtual Expos planned by Informa Markets in India. I did my first virtual expo way back in 2011, which was probably way ahead of others at that time. This time around it was a case of perfect timing as far as the launch of the IFSEC India Virtual Expo is concerned. We are delighted to have 2100+ attendees, 30+ speakers as part of the show and overall provided a world-class experience to the security industry.”

-Pankaj Jain, Group Director-Security & Safety portfolio, Informa Markets in India
